Research interests include the design and conduct of clinical trials for the treatment and prevention of ocular disease and visual impairment, the impact of US federal regulations for institutional review boards (IRBs) on ethical review of multicenter clinical trials, and evidence-based healthcare with a specific interest in critical appraisal and synthesis of the evidence on the safety and efficacy of treatments to prevent blindness and visual impairment.
