Research and Professional Experience

Children's Environmental Health: I am Principal Investigator for the Johns Hopkins University Center for the National Children's Study. Other current research such as the Baltimore THREE Study explores how environmental exposures are associated with endocrine disruption and adverse health outcomes in newborn infants. Also, I have worked to develop regulatory and science policies to address risks to children.

Public Health Preparedness: I am co-PI (dual) of the National Study Center for Preparedness and Critical Event Response (PACER), a university-based Center of Excellence that will support the mission of the Department of Homeland Security by conduct of research and educational initiatives that will build the science of preparedness and response. Our center takes an “all hazards approach” to preparedness, meaning that we address high consequence events that could be associated with both natural disasters and terrorist attacks.

International Chemical and Biotechnology Safety: My work in this area involves developing policy approaches to address chemical health and safety.
