Faculty Position in Genetic Epidemiology Department of Epidemiology
The Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health invites applications for a tenure-track position in Genetic Epidemiology at the Assistant or Associate Professor rank.
Applicants should hold a doctorate in epidemiology, genetics or biostatistics with experience in genetic epidemiology, or a medical degree with graduate training in epidemiology relevant to genetics. We are seeking a candidate with particular expertise in statistical genetics and epidemiology, including methods for genome-wide association studies and/or sequencing analyses. The candidate appointed to this position will be expected to conduct independent and collaborative epidemiologic investigations in the general field of genetic epidemiology. The candidate must also be committed to graduate education and teaching graduate-level courses and mentoring students and post doctoral fellows in epidemiology and genetic epidemiology.
The Department of Epidemiology is one of the oldest and largest such departments in the world, with over 150 doctoral and masters students and a diverse research program directed by 80+ faculty. Current faculty members working in genetic epidemiology focus on cardiovascular diseases, cancer, diabetes, neuropsychiatric diseases, asthma, infectious diseases, eye diseases and birth defects, but there are no restrictions on the candidate’s specific area of research.
