Department: Health Policy and Management
The Department of Health Policy and Management (HPM), Bloomberg School of Public Health, Johns Hopkins University is seeking a tenure-track faculty member in health informatics at a rank commensurate with experience. This individual will be part of an interdisciplinary faculty. In the department and school, there is particular interest in health informatics applications relevant to understanding determinants of population and public health, the evaluation of health policy, and the quality and cost of health services provided to individuals and populations. Experience with electronic health records and applications in quality improvement and quality monitoring, is highly desirable but not required. Candidates are expected to bring their own area of research and successful experience as a collaborator in multi-disciplinary research teams. A track record leading research teams and attracting government and/or private research support is highly desirable. Teaching responsibilities will include one to two courses a year and participation in the public health informatics curriculum that is jointly offered by the School of Public Health and the Division of Health Informatics, School of Medicine. It is expected the successful candidate would have a joint appointment in the Division of Health Informatics and possibly other departments in the Schools of Medicine and Public Health and in the Johns Hopkins Health System.
