Dr. Parmigiani develops statistical and computational methodologies for biomedical data, with focus on medical decision-making, cancer genetics, and genomics.
Examples of his projects are BRCAPRO, a model and software for genetic counseling of families at high risk of breast and ovarian cancer, and computational approaches for cancer genome projects.
Cancer genetics, BRCA1, BRCA2, familial cancer syndromes, computational biology, bioinformatics, genomics, stochastic optimization, Markov Chain Monte Carlo, Bayesian modeling, medical decision making.
