Research and Professional Experience

Jacky Jennings, MPH ’98, PhD ‘03, has a primary appointment in the Department of Pediatrics and a secondary appointment in the Infectious Disease Epidemiology program in the Department of Epidemiology. Her research interests include the behavioral and social epidemiology of sexually transmitted infections (STIs). Her methods include using geographic information systems and infectious disease surveillance systems information to contribute to a growing body of research on how adolescents’ and young adults’ sex partner selection and behavioral patterns within and between neighborhoods influence the transmission of STIs. Currently, Jacky is the Co-Investigator on a four year longitudinal NIAID RO1 examining individual and neighborhood level risks and assets important for STI prevention and control in Baltimore City. Her long term goal is to conduct controlled intervention studies based on modifiable environmental features in order to prevent and control STI and HIV transmission among inner city, disadvantaged youth.
