Research and Professional Experience

Research interests include the social and contextual factors associated with substance abuse and HIV risk, particularly with marginalized populations. Current activities include: 1) developing a culturally-tailored HIV prevention intervention for African American Men who have sex with men, 2) evaluation of a social-network oriented behavioral interventions with high-risk adults, 3) Translating a scientifically proven behavioral intervention for national dissemination, and 4) evaluation of two community-based programs designed to reduce HIV risk and drug abuse relapse.
