Research and Professional Experience

My research interests remain focused on economic evaluation, and specifically conducting costing and cost-effectiveness studies in low-income countries. To date, this includes work with Save the Children's Saving Newborn Lives Initiative to evaluate several community based neonatal health interventions in Bangladesh, Mali, Nepal, Pakistan and Indonesia. I have additionally worked in collaboration with Aga Khan University, Society for Applied Studies, Save the Children, UNICEF, WHO, and other partners to explore factors associated with enhancing diarrhea treatment services in children under 5. This includes work to determine the cost-effectiveness of zinc in addition to ORS for the treatment of acute diarrhea in children under 5 in Pakistan, India, and Mali. At present, I am funded through the Child Health Epidemiology Research Group to determine costs associated with maternal and neonatal health care and diarrhea treatment at the community level in low resource settings.
