Research and Professional Experience

My research is focused on clinical trials of injury prevention interventions, vaccines and nutritional interventions to diminish the burden of disease from childhood mortality and morbidity in underserved populations both domestically and internationally. I am also interested in the establishment of systematic surveillance systems as well as the improvement of pre-hospital and emergency care in low and middle income countries. In addition, I focus on some programmatic work, aimed at working with governments to institute new vaccines and other evidence-based interventions for child health promotion and disease prevention.
